- Defined: Standardized VSM practices are established, and key metrics are tracked to measure performance. Collaboration improves, and some proactive efforts are made to address bottlenecks.
- Managed: Data-driven decision making becomes prevalent, and value streams are actively managed for flow and efficiency. Teams use continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes.
- Optimized: A culture of continuous improvement is embedded, and value streams are highly efficient and aligned with customer needs. Automation and real-time data insights drive proactive optimization efforts.
By understanding their current VSM maturity level, organizations can develop targeted improvement plans and leverage the VSMM as a roadmap for achieving excellence.
